Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Red Bottom Celebration

Frazer hosted the annual Red Bottom Celebration June 17 through 19. The Pow Wow featured singing, drumming and dancing as well as vibrant traditional Native clothing. Frazer welcomed Nations from across the state and region to celebrate the rich history of Native American culture.

The Grand Entry was followed by the flag presentation and honoring of Native American Veterans. Honorees included Princesses, Elders, Pow Wow organizers and singers and drummers. Family gift giving events were interspersed among the intertribal singing and dancing. Participants of all ages joined in the celebration and competition.

Powwow singers and dancers were and are an important part of Native American culture, representing both the past and the ever-evolving way of life.
