Glasgow High School Choirs Make Showing At State Music Festival

The Glasgow High School Choir students had a very successful District Music Festival, which was held on April 22 and 23 in Wolf Point. In addition to all groups receiving either a score of Superior (I) or Excellent (II), freshman Gabriel Proctor also received a perfect score, which is the first time in five years any Glasgow student received the honor. Proctor is also the first student to receive a perfect score in the solo performance category.

The results ran on a I, II, III, IV, V scale with I being the best. A score of Superior (I) advanced to the State Music festival.

Due to their incredible performances, all 30 choir members were eligible to participate in the State Music Festival which was held May 6 and 7 at the Billings West High School. The event consisted of multiple events, 11 in total, that featured both the Chamber and Swing Choirs. The students competed for two days and received incredible feedback. In addition to performing, they were able to attend the Dallas Brass concert on Friday evening.

"It was a fun time of learning new ways to perform and hear other schools performing as well. We would like to thank all the Glasgow residents that traveled both to Wolf Point for District Music and Billings for State Music to support our choral program at Glasgow schools," stated Maureen Leech, Glasgow School District 6-12 Vocal Music Teacher.
