Porcupines Shine in Glasgow

The Nashua girls took ninth place at the Whitewater/Saco Invitational Saturday in Glasgow with 13 points while the Porcupine boys claimed 12th place with seven points.

Deja Morgan and Tia Dees scored points for the girls team while Torian Lucy and Xander Pugh scored on the boys side.

Pugh just missed the podium in the 100 meters, finishing in seventh place with a personal record 12.54. Lucy placed 31st with his personal best time of 13.34. Lucy also took 19th in the 200 meters at 27.08, another personal best.

Lucy's points came from a sixth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles. He set a personal best time of 22.35.

Pugh scored with a fourth place in the long jump and a fifth place triple jump performance. He jumped 17-11.00 in the first and 36-10.25 in the latter.

EvRhett Pugh took 17th in the triple jump with a personal best 31-08.25. He also set a personal record in javelin with an 83-10 throw for 38th place. Lucy placed 45th with his personal best 76-00 throw.

Morgan scored points for the Nashua girls with a sixth place finish – and season record – 3:06.09 performance in the 800 meters. Leah Morgan took ninth place and also set a personal record with her time of 3:19.38. L. Morgan set another personal record in the 100 meters with a time of 17.46 for 31st place.

Dees put up points with a fourth place shot put finish and a second place discus throw. She set a season record of 32-04.50 in shot put and threw the discus 98-03. She placed eighth in javelin with an 81-02 throw. D. Morgan placed 16th with a throw of 70-03 and L. Morgan took 32nd with a personal best 44-04.

D. Morgan jumped 11-09.00 in the long jump to tie for 12th place.Hinsdale will attend the Wolf Point Invitational Friday, May 6, and host the Gene Dreikosen Hinsdale Meet on Saturday, May 7, with events starting at 9:30 a.m. on Scottie Field in Glasgow.
