Glasgow Stockyards' Market Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of March 31 showed 617 cattle with cows and bulls steady. Utility and commercial cows brought in $75 to $87. Canner and cutter cows brought in $62 to $75, young feeding/turnout cows brought in $85 to $132.50 and bulls brought in $95 to $106.5.

The Gibbs Red Angus Bull Production Auction was held on March 31, hosted by Pat and Bill Gibbs and their families, from Jordan, sold 33 bulls averaging $2,970. The top bull sold for $4,750 and the top five averaged $4,200. The volume buyer was Lee Gibbs, Circle, Mont., with six bulls.

Lot 1 was GIB Finished Product 113, sired by Collier Finished Product heifer bull, sold to Kane MacDonald, Jordan, for $4,750. Lot 3 GIB Finished Product 129, sired by Collier Finished Product heifer bull, sold to Lee Gibbs, Circle, for $4,500. Lot 13 GIB Spartacus 161, sired by Beiber Spartacus, sold to Dennis Murphy, Circle, $4,000. Lot 27 GIB Atomic 188, sired by Bieber CL Atomic, sold to Lee Gibbs, Circle, for $4,250.

Northern Lites Red Angus Bull Production Auction, hosted by Bryce Risa and his family, of Opheim, was also held on March 31. A total of 26 bulls were sold with an average of $3,337 and the top bull sold for $8,000. The top five average was $5,000 with Kevin Nelson, of Richland, as the volume buyer with four bulls.

Lot 13, NLR Innovation 1020, sired by Crump Innovation was sold to Tigh Fuhrman, Richland, for $8,000. Lot 4, NLR Buckaroo 1038, sired by PIE Buckaroo, sold to Chase Redfield, Opheim, for $5,000. Lot 2, NLR Buckaroo 1008, sired by PIE Buckaroo, sold to Kevin Nelson, Richland, for $4,250. Lot 11, NLR Buckaroo 1040, sired by PIE Buckaroo, sold to Todd Westby Opheim, for $4,000.

The Eayrs Angus Bull Production Auction will be Thursday, April 14 in addition to the Stock Cows-Bred Heifers-Pairs. Eayrs Ranch will sell 45 Angus bulls.

On Thursday, April 21, is the Big Dry Angus Production Auction, Replacement Heifers, Feeder Cattle and All Class Cattle Auction.

Thursday, April 28 is the North Country Angus and Anderson Charolais Bull Production Auctions and All Class Cattle Auction.
