Glasgow gave up three goals in game one against Helena Friday night and found themselves down 5-0 heading into intermission.

The Dawgs found the back of the net with 11:30 left in the game. Lex Fairclough netted a power play goal with an assist from Michael Hoyer. Helena added two more goals before the final buzzer.

The Bighorns were called for four penalties while the Dawgs served time for six infractions.

Fairclough served a cross-checking minor in the first. Tatum Hansen served a roughing call and Mason Hunter served time for interference in the third. Dillon Hughes served an unsportsmanlike also in the third. Hansen served time for cross checking and Zevin Kummerfeldt sat for roughing, both with less than a minute to play.

Glasgow put 38 shots on net while Dawgs goalie Kolten Hansen turned away 36 shots for an 83.7 save percentage.

Back on the ice Saturday morning, Glasgow made a game of it. The score stood knotted at 0-0 after one with Glasgow taking the lead in the second period when T. Hansen netted an even strength goal.

Helena tied the game in the third, but T. Hansen scored another, with help from Peyton Hubbard, to regain the lead.

The Bighorns tied the game with 1:04 remaining and the clock ran out before either team could end the game.

After some rules discussion, three players from Helena and three from Glasgow, plus goalies, stepped back out on the ice for a 5-minute sudden death overtime.

Glasgow would need less than a minute to end the game. Michael Hoyer struck 52 seconds into the OT to give the Dawgs the victory.

Helena was called for six infractions while Glasgow served 22 minutes on seven penalties.

Kummerfeldt, interference, and T. Hansen, unsportsmanlike conduct, drew officials' attention in the first. Hunter served 10 for checking from behind – misconduct in the second. Fairclough also served time, for interference, before intermission.

Fairclough earned another trip to the sin bin in the third again for interference. T. Hansen served an offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct when a Bighorn was sent to Helena's box for tripping.

Shots were even in the game with each team sending 39 pucks at the other's netminder. Aidin Wilkowski earned the win for Glasgow with a 94.9 save percentage.
