Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is "not about freedom or personal choice," President Joe Biden said during a Sept. 9 speech about the pandemic.

During the prepared remarks, Biden announced Draconian measures aimed at forcing 80 to 100 million Americans to get jabbed. If they do not comply, they could be fired from their jobs.

(Read the entire speech here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2021/09/09/remarks-by-president-biden-on-fighting-the-covid-19-pandemic-3/)

"...what makes it incredibly more frustrating is that we have the tools to combat COVID-19, and a distinct minority of Americans - supported by a distinct minority of elected officials - are keeping us from turning the corner," Biden added. "...we must increase vaccinations among the unvaccinated with new vaccination requirements."

Such requirements include an emergency rule being developed by the Department of Labor to coerce "all employers with 100 or more employees, that together employ over 80 million workers, to ensure their workforces are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week," Biden said.

Well, HIPAA be damned.

Irritated by the concept of personal choice, and apparently the Bill of Rights and other federal laws protecting such choices from being forced by government, Biden seems to have found a legal loophole.

Diabolical.

Now, the feds are pursuing a path sure to hurt many folks who are hesitant or downright opposed to getting the vaccine. What they could not accomplish due to that pesky old Constitution they are now aiming to achieve with the power of money.

'Won't get the jab? We will ensure you get fired, go bankrupt and end up living on the streets. Your crime? Freedom of choice.'

Biden also aims to mandate the vaccine for all 17 or so million healthcare workers in the United States.

Same goes for all federal employees or those employed by companies with federal contracts.

Also in the pipeline is a mandate for juveniles under age 12, although that would be further out.

I cannot understate how dangerous this path is. I cannot think of a statement from any President since George Washington (excepting, perhaps, Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War and only then to secessionists) which translates to "you have no choice. Obey."

I hope the White House can see my extended middle fingers from the Middle of Nowhere.

Since when can the feds tell anyone what they 'have' to do with their own bodies in terms of medical decisions?

Isn't this the same administration championing the rights of women over their own bodies when choosing whether or not to get an abortion? How can your left hand be for freedom of personal choice concerning reproductive medical procedures while your right hand closes into a fist and beats down upon those making a personal medical choice on whether or not to get a vaccine?

Is there a stronger word than hypocrisy?

Biden claims getting vaccinated is not about freedom. Well, if his administration has its way, it certainly won't be.

Even companies thus far resistant to such mandates likely would not be able to defy the order financially. Companies in non-compliance could face fines of $14,000 per violation. Or, in other words, per employee who refused to get jabbed. Bust out the pink slips.

Biden did say exemptions could be granted due to health or religious concerns, and that such folks would need to be masked at all times and observe social distancing.

What a great way to isolate and shame! There would be no doubt who has and who has not been vaccinated.

Maybe that is the point, to separate such "undesirables" from "normies," to divide and conquer.

"Bring forth the pitch forks and torches! Prepare the hot tar and feathers! Gather for 'Two Minutes Hate!'"

It is amazing to me I am writing about actual current events and not some farce or satire.

Is this not the "Land of the Free and the Home of Brave?" Or, is it now the "Land of the Bound and Home of the Cowards?"

Time will tell.
