Life's Unexpected Gifts

From the Squad Room

In 2010 a life-changing event brought me to Glasgow to live with my mom.

I was also excited to be near my sister (Lynn Gilbert) and brother-in-law (Ken).

At the time I needed their support and soon it became obvious that we all needed each other and just how much the move was "meant to be."

I started applying for jobs in Glasgow in June of 2010, and on my trip from Oklahoma to Montana I had a positive response from the Glasgow Police Department.

I was so excited – the job sounded right up my alley. By this point in my life, I knew that I was best suited for administrative work.

My first interaction with the Glasgow Police Department was with a quick witted Chief and just as quick witted Probation Officer.

They came to my house with the intention of setting up an interview for the administrative position, but in the process accidently let my two babies out. (My babies at the time were two wild little Jack Russell's).

Like the heroes they were, the two sprang into action to save my lost animals. They shortly after came back with my four legged bandits. Even after all that I got the job!

Little did I know what I got into signing up with the boys in blue in Glasgow, but it forever changed my perspective on law enforcement officers.

Then, as now, I take great pride in working for the Glasgow Police Department. For eleven years I have had the privilege of working with the finest people in the world.

I spent seven wonderful years with my mom before her passing in 2017. My sister and I were with her to the end and that experience just cemented the fact that everything that happened along the way was leading to this.

I love quaint little Glasgow and all the people in this community. After my last little dog passed away in 2019, I found myself longing to be closer to my kids.

When I gave my notice to the police department I mentioned that I thought that my grant and administrative work would be quite adaptable to a remote location.

Chief Gault spoke with the Mayor, she conferred with the City Council and it was determined I could bring my job with me to St. Louis.

The last two years have been filled with precious time spent with my daughter, wrapped up with the privilege of still working for the city of Glasgow.

I can't believe how blessed I have been to finish up my career with the best community and the best job EVER.

Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to be of service to you!
