JEFF JURGENS MEMORIAL TOURNEY IS BACK!

Keegan Ingram signals for the ball during a March 15, 2019 JJMT game at the Civic Center. After a COVID-19 hiatus last year, the Jeff Jurgens Memorial Tournament is back on this year. "The kids are really, really, really looking forward to it," said Ryan Fast, who is in charge of organization for the Scottie Booster Club this year. Giving the youth something to do and keeping a proud Glasgow tradition alive were the motivating factors behind bringing back the tournament this year, even as the coronavirus pandemic cloud has not completely lifted. "We struggled with it: Is it the responsible thing to do?" Fast said. But after reaching out to coaches and establishing a Valley County Health Department approved COVID plan, the Scottie Booster Club decided to move forward. The tournament will look a bit different this year with fewer teams and fewer fans, but do not expect that to dampen the enthusiasm of the players as the tournament still sold out this year. Volunteers for bookkeeping, clock and gate are always welcome and anyone interested is encouraged to reach out via the Booster Club's website, scottieboosterclub.com. The full COVID-19 health and safety plan is also available on the site.
