Phyllis Sanguine

Phyllis (Moen) Sanguine, age 84 years, died suddenly due to a fourth, unexpected round of cancer, on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, in Kalispell, Mont.

At her request, there will be no service; however, she knows her family will be raising a glass to her at the next Burrus/Moen Glasgow Memorial Day reunion. She is dearly missed by her many friends and her family.

Phyllis was born to Chet and Eunice Moen on Sept. 22, 1936, in Glasgow, Mont. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1954 and from the two-year teaching certificate program at Northern Montana College in 1956.

She taught second grade in Kalispell, became engaged to Bill Sanguine, whom she met at NMC, and married him on Sept. 1, 1957.

Their daughter, Beth, was born in Bozeman, Mont., where Bill was finishing his college degree. His job took him to Great Falls, Mont., where son Bill was born, and to Glasgow, where son Brian was born. She followed Bill to his overseas postings and lived in Maadi, Egypt, for a time. They retired in the Kalispell area.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Merle Burrus and Bertha (Moen) Bruce; her uncles and all but one of her aunts; her parents; her sister Lila; and her son Brian.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years; two of their children; two favorite grandchildren, Kjersti and Will; Lila's three children, Shannon, Shelley, and Scott Robert, and their children; and her Aunt Norma and her Burrus and Moen cousins.

She and her family are thankful for the care provided at Kalispell Regional Hospital ICU and for her doctors' care over the years.

Memorials can be made to the GHS Trust Fund, c/o Jeanine Markle, 904 Wedum Dr, Glasgow, MT 59230, or to the Pioneer Museum, PO Box 975, Glasgow, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
