FPST Announces Seussical Jr.

Third-Graders Through High School Encouraged To Audition

FPST has added Seussical Jr. to the 2020 line-up, to give more opportunities for young actors to perform and grow in leading roles, in a cast solely featuring high school to third-graders. Many wonderful, leading and challenging roles available, including Cat in the Hat, JoJo, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie LaBird, Mayor, Mayor’s wife and Sour Kangaroo.

Rehearsals will take place during the day, beginning on (or around) June 12. Performances are Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at Fort Peck Summer Theatre.

As part of the process, the Seussical Jr cast will:

Observe rehearsals with the resident professional acting company

Perform using the technical designs (set, props, lighting) from the summer theatre production

Work one-on-one with the adult cast members, who will serve as mentors for their counterparts, to explore the roles and learn the show together

Be invited to attend, be recognized and celebrate opening night of the summer theatre production.

Local auditions are Sunday, Feb. 9, at Irle School, Glasgow, from noon to 2 p.m. Seussical Jr will be directed by Artistic Director Andy Meyers. Members of the Seussical Jr cast may also be cast in other summer productions, including Seussical.

Please call the Fort Peck Summer Theatre if you need additional information, 406-228-9216.
