American Prairie Reserve Destroys the American Food Industry

Dear Editor,

Central Montana is “ground zero” for the destruction of America’s food industry as the international investors bring their millions of dollars to buy private property surrounding public land to gain control of the agricultural leases. The American Prairie Reserve (APR) is methodically destroying the heart of American agriculture while also destroying our future hunting heritage. Sportsmen are being deceived by the APR propaganda as their future hunting will disappear—how much hunting in our national parks?

The APR purchases 500,000 acres of private property to control 3 million acres of government land then they plant 10,000 breeding buffalo which will be impossible to control with no fences and will soon overrun eastern Montana. The APR is also behind current Montana proposed Legislation promoted by radical environmentalists trying to classify bison as “wild” under the FWP protection.

In addition, APR does not allow predator control so neighboring ranches will not be able to survive as their livestock are slaughtered by government protected wolves, bears, lions, and etc. These predators will also quickly eliminate huntable game populations throughout the entire region (Sage Grouse anyone!).

This international funded group is the first step in implementation of the 1992 Earth Summit meeting of the United Nations Sustainable Development program which outlined their Agenda 21 goal of eliminating human habitation in Montana. This was established in the U.S. in 1993 by President Clinton’s Executive Order 12852 and his establishing of a Federal bureaucracy to implement this international environmental program with his next step setting aside millions of acres of government and private land in “Monuments.” The next Federal step was President Obama’s signing of Executive Order 13575 establishing the White House Rural Council to place Federal Control over local government decisions. Now appears APR land acquisitions.

The latest propaganda effort by the APR seminar during the Lewistown Winter Fair “Living With Wild Life” is an effort to indoctrinate ranchers who are expected to accept responsibility for protecting their livestock from the hoard of predators. This is being propagated by these radical environmental millionaires who are creating a 3.5 million acre breeding ground in Central Montana.

Any bison which trespass on ranches must be treated as stray livestock under rules established by the Montana Department of Livestock. Of course any sportsman who thinks the APR will allow hunting once they get final control of the public is naïve. The goal of these international millionaires is to convert Eastern Montana into an American Serengeti and will convince the Federal government to declare it an International Park controlled by the United Nations.

Montana agricultural groups must get off their “Politically Correct” butts and vigorously oppose the APR and their International millionaires promoting government control of private property!

Sincerely,

Sen. Ed Butcher (Ret)
