Free Education Program Presented by the Alzheimer's Association

The Valley County Senior Center will be hosting a free education program presented by the Alzheimer’s Association titled, “Effective Communication Strategies,” on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A light meal will be provided so please RSVP to 800-272-3900. As people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias progress in their journey and the ability to use words is lost, families and caregivers need new ways to connect. This free program will cover how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s or dementia, ways to decode and understand the verbal and behavioral messages, strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease as well as Alzheimer’s Association resources.
