Fort Peck Summer Theatre Ready to Open 49th Season

Preparations are underway for Fort Peck Summer Theatre’s 49th Season. Artistic Director Andy Meyers returns for his 8th season with a company made up almost entirely of returning artists. The exciting roster of shows, sure to engage and captivate audiences of all ages, is:

Guys on Ice

June 1 – June 10

Directed by Anna Loehrke

If you love fishing, beer or the Green Bay Packers, you are sure to laugh out loud at this hilarious musical about ice fishermen. This musical will star Neal Lewing, who appeared in FPST’s inaugural season, 49 years ago.

Cabaret

June 15 – July 1

Co-Directed by Heather Adam and Andy Meyers

The classic story comes to life on stage, featuring all the showstopping musical numbers that you remember from the Oscar winning movie starring Liza Minelli.

Leader of the Pack:

July 6 – July 22

Directed by James Rio

There is a not a song you don’t know in this high energy jukebox musical. If you loved Grease and Buddy Holly, you do not want to miss your chance to dance in the aisles to such famous hits as Chapel of Love, Da-Do-Run-Run, Be My Baby and of course, the title song. Audience favorite Chanel Bragg returns to lead the cast.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid

July 27 – August 12

Directed by Andy Meyers

The magical adventures of Ariel will swim onto stage, full of special effects, vibrant costumes and full throttle energy, as only FPST can do it.

Almost Maine

August 17 – September 2

A romantic comedy with music that takes place on a serendipitous night under the magnificent northern lights. Almost Maine is currently the most frequently-produced play in America, and will be making it’s FPST debut. Patrick Cook, who last starred as Buddy Holly, returns to provide live music for the production.

Performances for the Mainstage productions are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.

FPST is also pleased to offer two Theatre for a Young Audiences productions: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Alice’s Rockin’ Adventures in Wonderland.

FPST’s Theatre for a Young Audience productions, approximately 45 minutes in length are geared towards younger crowds, but promise to engage audiences of all ages. Wardrobe will tour to communities throughout Northeast Montana in June. Please visit fortpecktheatre.org for a specific tour schedule. Alice will perform at Fort Peck Theatre July 12 – 15, at 10 a.m. each day. Admission for both of these performances is free.

The annual DAM Cabaret will be performed on Wednesday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m.

The popular Performing Arts Camp will take place July 31 – August 9. Once again, Megan Wiltshire returns as Camp Director.
