Robert "Bob" Foster Carson, 75, of Glasgow passed away of natural causes at Miles City VA Nursing Home in Miles City, Mont., on Thursday, March 30, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Assembly of God Church in Glasgow, Mont., with Pastor Tom Fauth officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Montana Army National Guard. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Laurel, Mont.
He was born in Akron, Ohio to Foster and Geraldine (Glaspell) Carson. He received his high school education at Hower High School in Akron, Ohio. In the early 1990s, he received an associate's degree in Business from MSUB.
He had a long and diligent career serving his country and fellow veterans. He joined the Air Force in June, 1960 and was honorably discharged in March of 1964. In 1985, he entered the service again with the Army National Guard and served until 2001. He was a Supply Sargent that covered eastern Montana. He then happily volunteered for the DAV for 10 years, racking up an incredible 6,477 hours of volunteered time.
In 1961, he married Donna Nefzger and to this union was born four children, later Bob and Donna went their separate ways. Bob later married Marilyn Potter-Ellefson and to his family he added two more children.
He is survived by his six children, Earl Carson and his wife, Denise, with their children of Glasgow, David Carson of Glasgow, Michael Carson of Billings, Kelly Carson and his children of Missoula, Tami Riggs and her husband, Todd, along with their children of Glendale, Ariz. and Daniel Ellefson and his wife, Darci, of Glasgow; two sisters, Pam Spampinato and Vicki Kartye; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
