FMDH Welcomes New Orthopedic Surgeon

Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital is pleased to announce the arrival of a new Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Scott T. Croft, MD.

Dr. Croft was born in Lovell, Wyo., and was delivered by his own grandfather, the town doctor. The medical profession runs deep in the family, beginning with his great-grandfather, who first moved to Wyoming's Bighorn Basin to help treat a yellow fever outbreak. Dr. Croft's grandfather then followed his own father's medical footsteps and became the next county doctor in the area. Dr. Croft's father became a dentist.

Dr. Croft grew up in Arizona and attended college at Brigham Young University in Utah. During his college time, he served a two-year mission in Japan for his church. Upon graduation from college, Dr. Croft was accepted to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and he attended medical school there, after he was awarded a coveted U.S. Army medical scholarship. He graduated with honors and was elected as a member of AOA, the National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Croft and his wife, Lisa, then moved to California where he began his training in Orthopedic Surgery at the combined Presidio Army Base/U.C. San Francisco residency program. He completed his training in Sacramento at U.C. Davis Medical Center.

With his medical training completed, Dr. Croft served his country as an Orthopedic Surgeon in Heidelberg, Germany for nearly three years. He then returned to his home town of Scottsdale, Ariz. to begin private practice. He practiced general orthopedics and Level I trauma there for 15 years. He was recruited back to Wyoming (much like his great-grandfather) and has practiced there for the last seven years. He now joins the Glasgow community offering up his skills in total hip, knee, and shoulder reconstruction, sports medicine, rotator cuff repair and trauma, just to name a few.

Among Dr. Croft's passions, foremost are his wife and four children. One of his favorite quotes is, "No success can compensate for failure in the home." With his other passions being pheasant hunting, fly fishing, and snow skiing (all shared with his family), Glasgow is sure to be a perfect fit!
