Aubrey Farrar, Emersyn Tofte, Jensina Tweten and Mia Petersen pose with their cache of delectable American staple Girl Scout Cookies for their booth sale this Saturday at Markle's Ace Hardware in Glasgow.

Girl Scout Brownies from Troop 2244 in Glasgow will be selling their hallmark cookies Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a booth outside Markle's Ace Hardware in downtown Glasgow. The Girl Scouts of America organization is celebrating its 100-year anniversary, and the 2nd grade level "Brownies" are hoping to raise funds to continue their traditions of serving the community, especially helping young girls and women grow into leaders in their communities.

The girls will have an assortment of cookies for sale including American staples like the peanut butter and chocolate Tagalongs and the coconut and caramel infused Samoas. They will also have their newest S'mores flavor cookie for sale. Proceeds help fund the Girl Scout program and the girls will also donate a portion of their proceeds to the foster child program in Valley County and the Valley County Food Bank, in a show of support for local youth.

Troop Leader Melissa Anderson stressed that the reinstatement of Girl Scouts this year has been a blow-out year for membership. She stated, "This is the first year in a long time that we have had Girl Scouts and the turn out has been amazing with 12 Brownies (2nd and 3rd grades) and nine Daisies (1st and 2nd grades)," coming into the Troop.
