Barbara (Harrison) Walden, 76, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.
She was born Aug. 28, 1939, to Verne and Dorothy Harrison at St. Helena, Napa County, Calif. She attended local schools in LowerLake, Calif., and graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. in 1961. She taught high school in her hometown, then worked as an extension agent for Oregon State University in Baker, Ore.
In 1963, she married Harold Horting from Jerome, Idaho. He passed in 1987. She married Jim Walden in 1988 in Jerome, Idaho, where they raised sheep, cattle and horses.
In 2001, after 29 years of teaching, she retired. She and Jim moved to Saco, and later to Circle. They made Glasgow their home in 2008.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; stepchildren, Jamie Ivie and her husband, Craig, of Willis, Texas, Jim Walden and his wife, Shelia, of Philipsburg, Mont., Bub Walden and his wife, Kathy, of Denver, Colo., and Bob Walden and his wife, Sylvan, of Fort Peck; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
