Glasgow Hosts District 12 & 13 Honors Music Concert

14 Area Schools Participate

The district honors band and choir concert drew a nice crowd into Scottie Gymnasium Monday night.

Traveling to Glasgow to showcase their talents were students from Culbertson, Frazer, Saco, Scobey, Wolf Point, Malta, Nashua, Opheim, Plentywood, Lustre, Hinsdale, Whitewater and Poplar. In all, nearly 250 students participated in the concert.

Guest conductors for the event were Alicia Bullock-Muth from the Missoula area, and Dusty Molyneaux from Great Falls.

Bullock-Muth led the combined choir in four musical numbers, as well as a composition each for the men' chorus and the women's chorus.

The band, which was composed of 17 different instruments, including percussion, performed second with Molyneaux as their director.

Both guest conductors were complimentary of the students and their abilities, as well as noting that the day of practice was both productive and harmonious.

Speaking before the band performance, Molyneaux assured the audience that music education was "alive and well" in Northeast Montana, and credited the schools' music directors with achieving great things.
