Michael H. Thomas

Michael H. Thomas, 70, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. at James Black Dog Community Hall in Fort Kipp, followed by interment in the Fort Kipp Cemetery in Fort Kipp.

He was born May 29, 1944, in Poplar, Mont., to Boke Thomas of Fort Totten, N.D., and Mercy White Bear of Fort Kipp, Mont. He graduated from Brockton High School and worked all of his life as a carpenter for Fort Peck Housing. He also drove bus for 24 years for the Brockton School and Headstart in Fort Kipp. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. He was a pair of helping hands to those who needed it.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boke Thomas and Merch White Bear; two children, Michael Thomas Jr. and Andrew Thomas; two brothers, Dino and Timothy Thomas; and one sister, Sheryl.

Survivors include his wife, Della Thomas, of Fort Kipp; two children, Ida Moran and her husband, Shane and Thomasine Thomas of Riverside; step-children, Leslie Long Hair and Valerie Youpee, both of Fort Kipp; his raised children, Ashten (Blaine) Vielle and Brennen Bets His Medicine of Fort Kipp; and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of events.
