Farrel (Jackson) Strahs, 68, died of natural causes on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Mont.
She was born on July 13, 1945, the daughter of Wilson and Josephine (Schindler) Jackson. She attended schools in Frazer and lived in the Oswego Bottom and Frazer area.
On July 13, 1963, she married William Lindsay in Wolf Point, to which marriage they had two daughters, Donna Jo Lindsay Johnston and April Rose Lindsay. She later married Gary Nelligan Jr., and they had three children, Gary Nelligan Jr., Tina Marie (Mitch) Nelligan and Stacy Ann (deceased).
She enjoyed singing karaoke, making rag rugs, listening to music, barbecues, horses, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacy Ann Nelligan; two sisters, Pearl Bird and Marilyn Steele and her husband, Lonnie; and two brothers, Maynard Jackson Sr. and Darrell Jackson.
Survivors include six sisters, Merle Clampitt, Susan LaRoque and her husband, Henry, Sharlene Beston and her husband, Joseph, Cheryl Doney and her husband, John, Rosalie Smoker and her husband, Phillip, and Roxy McDonald; 12 grandchildren, Stare Hope Fourstar, Eilene Elizabeth Fourstar, Parker Lee Johnston, Sweets Rose Lindsay, Quinton Michael Lindsay, Sunshine Lee Lindsay, Chelsie Renae Lindsay, Chad Edward Nelligan, Jessie Clinton Nelligan, Blake Lee Nelligan, Travis Keen Nelligan and Amanda Jo Marie Gourneau; and 19 great-grandchildren, Roger Dale Flynn III, Hailee Long, Travis Long Jr., Leslie Williams, Kelsie Long, Bailey Buckles, Whisper Corpron, Joshlyn Lindsay, Anthony Lindsay, Cherish Lindsay, Michael Lindsay, Elizabeth Smoker, Audrey Smoker, Cassius Smoker, Kimara Allrunner, Allyn Torntoes, Angel Nelligan, Dashaya Smoker and Dashane Smoker-Nelligan.
A vigil service was held Sunday, July 28, at 7 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 29, at 3 p.m., all services at the Frazer Community Hall in Frazer. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.
