A young, charismatic choir director capable of arranging charts on the fly is a rare thing in any community. Way out here in the Last Best Place, it's a special blessing indeed.
Stopping into the rehearsal room at GHS this past Sunday, I was taken aback by the ample enthusiasm, harmony and cohesion on display. Teacher Luree Green-Chappell has obviously got a way with her students, as most interested parties in town are already well aware.
The GHS Swing Choir will be appearing at Ridgerunners on Skylark Road in Glasgow for two shows on May 19 at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and there will be food from the Cottonwood available for purchase, as well as a full bar. Don't forget to make a sizable donation, as the event (9th annual) is a fundraiser to help Luree and her students raise the money they need for instruments, equipment, outfits and travel expenses.
