Opheim Vikings

Opheim athletes Carrie Taylor, and James Landles helped power the Unified Scobey-Opheim track teams to top slots at the Gene Nelson Memorial in Wolf Point May 5. The girls scored 136.5 points to win while the boys put up 140 points. At the Sidney Invitational May 6, the girls scored 85 points for third place while the boys finished in fifth with 59 points. TAYLOR

Taylor won the girls’ javelin in Wolf Point, throwing 122-01. She finished fifth in both the shot put and discus, throwing a 29-05.50 in the shot put and a personal best 95-06 in the discus.

She also won the javelin in Sidney, throwing 115-0. She took eighth in discus at 88’2 and 12th in shot put with a 28’9 throw.

LANDLES

Landles won the boys’ 110m and 300m hurdles. He set a personal record in the latter with a time of 46.57 and ran the 110m in 19.15. He placed third in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 25.53. He ran a leg on both relay teams. The 4x100 team placed third with a time of 48.86 and the 4x400 team finished in 3:53.26 for second place.

In Sidney, Landles placed third in the 110m hurdles at 17.76, a personal best time. His 4x100 relay team ran a 49.33 for fifth place while the 4x400 team took second with a 3:51.33 time.

Taylor, Landles and Anders on will attend the District 2B/3C Track Meet this Saturday, May 14 as members of the Unified Scobey-Opheim team. Competition begins at 9 a.m. at Scottie Field.
