Glasgow Stockyards Market Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of March 30, show 620 cattle sold with cows and bulls steady. Young feeding/turnout cows were higher and there was no test on feeder cattle or bred cattle.

Utility and commercial cows brought in $92 to $104, with the top at $108; canner and cutter cows $75 to $90; young feeding/turnout cows $115 to $160.50; and bulls $115 to $129.50.

The Gibbs Red Angus Production Auction, hosted by the Pat and Bill Gibbs Family, of Jordan, had 37 Red Angus Bulls sell with an average of $3,541. The top bull sold for $6,250 and the top 10 average was $4,500.

Lot 26, a heifer bull prospect with a CED of 15 and BW -3.7, sired by Bieber Spartacus and a Beckton Warrior dam sold to Larry Stensland/Buzzards Glory Farms, of Wolf Point, for $6,250.

Lot 1, heifer bull with a CED of 18 and BW -6.1, sired by Red U2 Malbec and out of a Beiber Rollin Deep dam sold to Brock and Rebecca See, of Glasgow.

Lot 6, sold to Travis Nelson, of Richland for $5,000 was sired by Beiber Spartacus

Lot 29, sold to Engstrom Ranch of Glasgow, for $4,750. Sired by 3SCC Domain. Heifer bull with 16 CED and BW -3.6.

Volume buyers were Travis Nelson, Richland 7; David Gibbs, Circle, 5; and Lee and Michelle Gibbs, Circle, 5.

Northern Lites Red Angus Production Auction, hosted by Bryce Lee and Terry Risa, of Opheim, sold 28 Red Angus Bulls for an average of $4,768. The top bull sold for $10,000 and the top 10 average was $6,125.

Lot 2 sold to Steven MacDonald, of Jordan, for $10,000. Sired by Bieber Dividend and out of a MLK Crk Lakota dam. Biggest BW to WW spread in the offering.

Lot 3 sold to Kane MacDonald, of Jordan, for $8000. Sired by Bieber Dividend and out of a Bieber Miss Dana dam. Biggest WW in the offering at 785 for a 110 ratio.

Lot 12 was sold to Kevin Nelson, of Richland, for $5,750. Sired by Bieber Dividend and out of Warhead dam.

Three lots selling for $5,500 – Lot 10 sold to Kevin Nelson, Richland; Lot 4 Macy Klind, Glasgow; Lot 20 Larry Stensland/Buzzards Glory Farms, of Wolf Point.

Volume buyers were Macy Klind, Glasgow with 6; Kevin Nelson, of Richland, with 4; and Kirk Cornwell, of Glasgow, with 4.

Upcoming Auctions

Thursday, April 6, is the Feeder Special and All Class Cattle Auction. Several consignments of grass weight steers and heifers and bangs vaccinated replacement heifers pending. Looking at 1000 head.

Saturday, April 8, is the Math Angus Bull Production Auction featuring 65 two-year-old bulls; 30 yearling bulls; 3 fall born Flush Brothers; 40 Angus bangs vacc. replacement heifers.

Thursday, April 13, is the Eayrs Angus Bull and Female Production Auction, selling 50 Angus bulls and 30 bangs vaccinated Angus replacement heifers 700# and stock cow, bred heifer and pair auction and All Class Cattle Auction.
