For the week of Feb 6 through Feb. 12, there were 15 motor vehicle stops, one report of loose horses and four reports of loose / barking dogs.

Saturday, Feb. 4

1422 – Reporting party stated his 90-year old aunt got a call from someone stating they were with Dish Network. Before she realized this was not right, she supplied her social security number and her date of birth. The reporting party called this in concerned, and advised him to contact Dish Network directly and report the fraud. It was also advised for the caller to contact the victim witness advocate at the GPD.

1825 – A woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported a man driving with a suspended driver’s license leaving a parking lot. She stated he lives in St. Marie and a description of the vehicle was provided. A deputy was advised and the driver’s license was ran to confirm his license is suspended.

Monday, Feb. 6

1243 – Reporting party stated there is a road sign still attached to the post in the ditch near the RidgeRunners, going up the hill area. The caller wasn’t clear on the exact location but stated she believed there isn’t a sign that has been in that area before, so believes it was dropped off there by someone. Road Department was notified.

1546 – Caller wanted to speak with an officer concerning his son. This is concerning making arrangements to get him to Billings the next day. Dispatch advised an officer will try to call back later.

1608 – Officer stopped to assist a vehicle changing a tire at the rest area on his way back from Malta.

1619 – Reporting party called in and stated there is a light green vehicle that has been parked for a couple of hours. He has his laptop out and appears to be working on something. When the reporting party stopped and talked to the male, he stated he was fine and had no problems.

1939 – Caller reported a dead deer just outside of Nashua, on the west side of town. A second caller later reported the same, stating the deer is laying in the westbound lane of US 2 by the overpass. A deputy was notified.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

0309 – Reporting party called and stated a male walking in the ditch by the eastbound lane of Highway 2. A description of the male was provided. The caller stated it’s really cold out and he’s worried for the welfare of the male. A deputy was notified who at 0329, refused to talk to him or let the deputy give him a ride. The deputy also advised when he pulled up beside the male, the male pretended to be on his phone.

0724 – A public assist call was recorded. It was advised the male just stopped to use the phone.

0803 – Reporting party called stating there is a vehicle parked in their lot that has been there for several days now and they need it moved. A license plate was provided. An officer was notified and dispatch called the reporting party back to let her know who the owner of the vehicle is.

1427 – An unknown male called asking if an individual has a warrant for bad checks. Dispatch confirmed she does, and he asked to verify the address that was provided to him. When dispatch asked for the caller’s name, the call was disconnected.

1534 – Fish and Game advised he received a call from a landowner about mule deer in his alfalfa field. Fish and Game stated they will respond and shoot off cracker rounds to scare them off.

1902 – Reporting party requested an officer. He said Saturday and Sunday night, someone was knocking on his door at 4 a.m. Nothing happened on Monday. He said just now someone knocked on his side door, but he couldn’t see anyone out there.

1918 – Caller reported a white pickup with heavily tinted windows sitting for the last hour and a half. She is unsure if they are sitting there watching them at Taco Shack or what they are doing. The reporting party stated she took a photo of the pickup and the license plate however the picture turned out difficult to see. The reporting party did state she did not approach the vehicle.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

1559 – Caller reported a truck hauling round bales that has a flat tire. She states it is the rear inside the tire and tire debris is flying out from it. At 1606, deputy advised he has passed four trucks hauling round bales, none of them are throwing up tire debris and he doesn’t see a flat tire. At 1613, deputy advised he patrolled to MT Hwy 117, there is nothing on the roads.

1806 – Reporting party called to report excessive water at the location. She stated that people were throwing up water onto other vehicles and some where swerving into the other lane to avoid it. Later an office advised the water is pooling up but not excessively so if the street department has time, it would help.
