Glasgow Stockyards Market Report

The market report for the Glasgow Stockyards as of Jan. 26, shows 162 cattle sold. Light run for the last sale of January. The cow market seems to have turned the corner. Cows this week selling $5 to $10 higher.

Utility and commercial cows brought in $68 to $80; canner and cutter cows $57 to $68; young feeding/turnout cows $85 to $115; and very light test on bulls $88 to $102.50.

Thursday, Feb. 2, is the Big Feeder Special and All Class Cattle Auction with over 3,500 consigned.

Replacement quality heifer calves; 2-way steers and heifers and strings of light grass-weight steers and heifers. Over 2,000 first-cut calves. The sale time is at 9 a.m., starting right on calves.

Thursday, Feb. 9, is the 35th Annual Wittkopp Angus Auction – Monthly Stock Cow and Bred Heifer Auction and All Class Auction. Wittkopps will sell 80 yearling Angus bulls and 70 fancy bangs vaccinated replacement heifers.

Also consigned are 40 black bred heifers, March 10 for 50 Days. AI or bull bred to Angus bulls, 1000 pounds. Also 85 black three and four-year old bred cows, bred Angus, March 10 through May 1. The cows and heifers will be tested in the yard.
