Frazer Boys Fall in Scobey

Frazer’s boys basketball team fell in their only game last week, taking an 81-21 loss on the road in Scobey Jan. 19. The Bearcubs’ record is 0-5, 0-10 overall.

The Bearcubs showed their offense in the first quarter with 13 points, including a three-pointer from each Ty Fourstar and Jarvis GoodBird, but the Spartans countered with 22 points. Frazer’s offense fell off in the second with only 4 points, giving Scobey a 43-17 lead at the half. The Spartans continued to roll in the third, putting up 26 points while holding Frazer to 7. With a running clock in the final eight minutes, the Bearcubs were outscored 12-2.

Fourstar led Frazer with 9 points, including his trey and 2-for-4 shooting at the free throw line. Joseph Beston added 8, with a 2-for-6 showing at the line. Travis Long added 6 on two downtown shots and GoodBird added a three-pointer.

Scobey held their fouls to six while Frazer was called for 17, 10 in the second half. Beston fouled out while Long was called for four fouls. Cassius Smoker, GoodBird and Zayden Hentges had two infractions each while Fourstar and Chris Fox drew the officials’ attention once each.

Frazer’s lone game this week is Friday, Jan. 27, when the Bearcubs host the Brockton Warriors for MMIW Night. The girls game begins at 6 p.m. followed by the boys tip off at 7:30 p.m.
