City of Glasgow Reminds Citizens It Is Unlawful To Deposit Snow From Private Property Into Public Right Of Ways

The City Of Glasgow is reminding citizens that it is unlawful to deposit snow, ice, and slush from private property into public right of ways. Under City Ordinances it is unlawful for any person to deposit snow, ice or slush from private property onto any fire hydrant, street, alley or sidewalk.

Any person violating any provision of the ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and processed under City Ordinances.

If you have been depositing snow from your driveway or sidewalks into the street, please stop and respect the law. If you have already deposited piles (either piled high or spread out in the street) those piles need to be removed by you. If you do not remove that deposited snow, you will be formally notified and the process documenting the violation will start. Additionally, you will be liable for the cost to remove the piled snow.
