Scottie Girls Drop Two in Red Lodge

Glasgow’s girls basketball team dropped both their games at the Woodden Memorial Tournament in Red Lodge this past weekend. The Scotties fell to the hosts 50-28 Friday before dropping a 52-37 contest to Big Timber on Saturday.

Glasgow led Friday 8-7 after one but Red Lodge surged in the second quarter with 13 while holding the Scotties to 3 points. Red Lodge outscored Glasgow 15-10 in the third quarter and 15-7 in the final quarter.

Tatum Nyquist hit for 9 points to lead Glasgow while Daley Aune and Carly Nelson both scored 6 points. Kyndal Schraner added 5 points and Joely Chappell 2 points.

Glasgow held their fouls to eight, only three in the second half. Nelson was called for four while Aune, Aspen Stulc, Nyquist and Schraner drew one whistle each.

The Scotties fell behind early against Big Timber, trailing 16-6 after one and 24-18 at the half. Both teams put up 8 points in the third but Big Timber lit up the nets in the fourth with 20 while holding Glasgow to 11 points.

Aune hit for 18 points to lead Glasgow, including two treys and 4-for-8 shooting at the charity stripe. Nyqust added 7, Chappell and Nelson 4 each, and Stulc 2 points.

Glasgow had 14 fouls in the game, eight in the second half. Nelson led with four followed by Tanae Baker with three and Nyquist with two infractions. Chappell, Brielle Partridge, Stulc and Schraner each had one.

In JV action, the Scotties fell to Malta 38-32 Dec. 6 and lost 37-11 in Nashua Dec. 9.

Piper Johnson led the team against Malta with 12 points followed by Schraner, 8; Hayden Green, 7; Baker, 3, and Riley Evenson-Glasoe, 2 points.

Macy Martin scored 4 against Nashua followed by Green, 3, and Evenson-Glasoe and Lacey White with 2 each.

Glasgow’s C team lost 46-13 to Malta Dec. 6.

Green led with 7 points while Baker, Martin and Ella Eggebrecht each scored 2 points.

The Scotties are on the road this weekend with games in Sidney Friday, Dec. 16, an din Glendive Saturday, Dec. 17.

Friday Glasgow’s C teams – boys and girls – will both play at 3 p.m. with the girls at the high school and the boys at the middle school. JV games will be at 4:30 p.m. with the same locations. The varsity girls play at 6 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m., both at the high school.

In Glendive, JV action begins at 1 p.m. with girls at the middle school and boys at the high school. C teams will play at 2:30 p.m. in the same locations. The varsity girls play at 4 p.m. and the boys varsity at 5:30 p.m., both at the high school.
