Scottie Boys Pick Up First Win

Glasgow’s boys basketball team picked up their first win of the season this past weekend at the Woodden Memorial Tournament in Red Lodge this past weekend. The Scotties fell to host Red Lodge 57-54 Friday but bounced back to defeat Big Timber 49-47 Saturday.

The Scotties trailed Red Lodge by a bucket after one Friday but had tied the game 22-22 at the half. Red Lodge pulled away in the third, outscoring Glasgow 19-11. The Scotties controlled the fourth quarter, scoring 21 points while holding Red Lodge to 16, but still found themselves on the short side of a 57-54 final score.

Wyatt Babb and Keigan Ingram both put up 17 points for Glasgow. Toryn Richards and Riley Smith both hit for 7 and KJ Ingram added 6 points.

Smith pulled down 10 rebounds, two offensive, while Babb pulled down eight, three offensive. K. Ingram and Richards snagged three each, all offensive. KJ Ingram and Ashton Potter had one rebound each.

Saturday, Glasgow led the first half of the game, with scores of 17-14 and 28-22, before Big Timber took the lead after outscoring Glasgow 14-6 in the third. The Scotties fought back with a 15-point fourth quarter while holding Big Timber to 11 points.

Babb hit for 21 points, including three from downtown, while K. Ingram added 20 with a trey and 3-for-6 shooting from the line. Potter added 6 points and Smith connected on a field goal.

Smith, Potter, Babb and K. Ingram each pulled down six boards while Richards snagged three and KJ Ingram two rebounds.

In JV action, Glasgow defeated Malta 56-52 Dec. 6 and fell 48-32 in Nashua Dec. 9.

Cade Hudyma scored 21 points against Malta followed by Jordan Cook, 10; Andy Hanson, 9; Rex Monson and Vaughn Miller, 5 each; Connor Hudyma, 4, and Nick Solorzano, 2 points.

Ca. Hudyma also led in Nashua with 12 points, followed by Miller, 9; Hanson, 5; Co. Hudyma, 4, and Monson, 2 points.

The Scottie C squad fell to Malta 49-38 and edged Nashua 24-23 on the same dates.

Wyatt Sugg led the team against Malta with 16 points, followed by Noah Leckie, 10; Cam Nelson, 4; Klay Cornwell, 3; Davis Tolzien and Braxton Potter, 2 each, and Trey Graham, 1 point.

Nelson led in Nashua with 6, followed by Graham, Sugg, Leckie and Cornwell with 4 each and Jorden Wilson with 2 points.

The Scotties are on the road this weekend with games in Sidney Friday, Dec. 16, and in Glendive Saturday, Dec. 17.

Friday Glasgow’s C teams – boys and girls – will both play at 3 p.m. with the girls at the high school and the boys at the middle school. JV games will be at 4:30 p.m. with the same locations. The varsity girls play at 6 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m., both at the high school.

In Glendive, JV action begins at 1 p.m. with girls at the middle school and boys at the high school. C teams will play at 2:30 p.m. in the same locations. The varsity girls play at 4 p.m. and the boys varsity at 5:30 p.m., both at the high school.
