Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Northwest Farm Credit Services' Local Advisory Committee Awards $1 Million to Montana Organizations

All Class C State High Schools Benefit

Guided by their Local Advisory Committee (LAC), Northwest Farm Credit Services is proud to award $1 million to organizations in Montana.

As a cooperative, Northwest Farm Credit Services’ purpose is to improve the lives of their customers and employees, the communities where they work and raise their families and the Northwest agriculture, food and fiber industries. In pursuit of this purpose, stewardship investments are made in a variety of ways to support rural communities. This investment of resources is guided by LAC members, who serve as a liaison between Northwest FCS and their customers and communities.

With the LAC’s recommendations, 17 projects throughout the state of Montana were approved to receive funds, including all Class C state high schools.

“Northwest Farm Credit understands the legacies, values and determination that are held within the people of these rural communities,” said Lacey Sutherlin, Montana LAC member. “I truly believe the LAC-guided stewardship funds gave these rural communities are unmatched. When you are part of a project that gives away funding to buy a new fire truck and other emergency service items, it is definitely easy to see it will be a positive impact on these communities for years to come.”

Across Northwest FCS’ territory (Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Alaska), this initiative has awarded over $4 million to 98 organizations.
