Colbrese Cup Memorial Red Ball Golf Scramble

The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture held their annual Colbrese Cub Memorial Red Ball Golf Scramble at Sunnyside Golf and Country Club Aug. 13. After 18 holes, Joel Smith, Todd Truscott, Jake Hughes and Scott Markle claimed first place gross to win $1800. Pete Helland, Chris Helland, Wayne Mickelson and Sam Schultz earned first place net and $1800.

Jed Kirkland, Bille Allestad, Kerry Money and Kevin Hohlen earned $1200 for second place net. Nate Hopstad, Taylor Hopstad, Tyler Fox and Josh Sillerud took home third place net and $800.

Zack Garsjo, Rocky Zimdars, Dennis Zimdars and Ron Wold pocketed $200 for the dubious honor of being the Bottom Bouncers.

Team Nemont Beverage/T&R Trucking took home the $50 hole prize on Hole 1, sponsored by Arch's Tire & Service, for making the closest second shot (on the green).

Janie Sukut won the prize on Hole 2, sponsored by Cottonwood, for being closest to the Scottie flag.

The Hole 3 prize, sponsored by Buechler Agency, went to Darrin Wersal. He won $50 for being closest to the line.

Nemont's closest to the pin/hole in one prize on Hole 4 was won by Chancely Carter, who added $500 to her bottom line.

Northwest Farm Credit Services' shortest drive prizes on Hole 5 went to Carlyle Garsjo and Sue Peters. Each won $50.

Hi-Tech Electric paid $500 to Kevin Hohlen on Hole 6 for his closest to the pin shot.

Levi Sugg and Gloria Klind each took home $50 on Hole 7 for their longest putts, courtesy of C&B Operations.

Thompson & Sons sponsored the longest drive prizes on Hole 8. They paid $50 to Todd Truscott and Jenn Jackson.

Team KLTZ won $50 on Hole 9 from All Season's Home Center for being closest to the triangle.

Chancely Carter and Donny Jones both won $50 for being closest to the flag on Hole 10. JR's Party Store sponsored the hole.

Pehlke's Furniture sponsored the closest to the drop zone prize on Hole 11. Chris Helland pocketed the $50.

Josh Toews won $50 on Hole 12 for being closest to the pond without a splash. Hi Line Med Spa sponsored the prize.

Cottonwood paid out another $100 in hole prizes on Hole 13. Arleen Archambeault and Calvin Kemmis each won $50 for being closest to the pin.

Chancely Carter raked in another $50 on Hoel 14 for the shortest drive, sponsored by Red Foxx Real Estate.

Team Nemont Beverage/T&R Trucking earned another $50 on Hole 15 for being closest to the pin, sponsored by Ezzie's.

Hi Line Collision sponsored the prize on Hole 16 for the closest second shot. Pat Gunderson took home the $50 prize.

Ezzie's sponsored the men's longest drive prize on Hole 17, giving Nathan Dale $50 for the honor. Helland Agency ponied up for the women's longest drive prize. Elena Sudback won the $50.

Farm Bureau Insurance/Shane Gibson sponsored the closest second shot on Hole 18.

The Chamber also raffled off several items at the event. Arleen Archambeault won the Yetti backpack while Andy Newton won the Yetti hopper. Newton also won two round-trip Cape Air tickets. The stand up paddle board went home with Taylor Hopstad while Carlyle Garsjo won the Robyn's Nest basket.

Heather Fox won $480 in the 50/50 draw. The Chamber donated half of their keep, $240, to the Valley County Community Pool Campaign in honor of the namesake of the tournament, Terry Colbrese.
