Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Glasgow Police Department's Newest Officer

Glasgow Police Department's newest officer Parker Rapp was sworn in on May 16, after recently moving to the Glasgow area. Though he hasn't been on the force for a full two weeks, he is looking forward to being a part of the community "Right now I'm going through my field training program and I'm really looking forward to being able to be more involved and be a part of whatever comes up," he stated.

Rapp is originally from the Fairfield/Augusta area, attending high school in Augusta. He just graduated this spring from Montana State University-Northern with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. While living in Havre, he worked at the Hill County Detention Center and has worked in private security in Great Falls. Prior to entering law enforcement, he worked on different ranches. As a result, he has had some experience with Glasgow in the past due to participating and watching ranch rodeos.

After being a ranch hand, his desire to entire law enforcement was simple, to serve. "I want to be able to provide help and serve the community. The Glasgow Police Department's interaction with the community is one of the reasons why I came here is because I saw how much involvement there is," explained Rapp.

Rapp is most looking forward to fishing Fort Peck Lake this summer and exploring the various hunting areas that are available during the hunting seasons. Coming from a smaller town originally, living in the Middle of Nowhere is not such a huge adjustment and he is looking forward to keeping with the small town feel of being welcoming. He invites anyone who sees him out and about to come up and say hello.

The addition of Rapp makes the Glasgow Police Department fully staffed for the first time since 2013. You will have the opportunity to meet Rapp and the rest of the Glasgow Police Department on Thursday, June 2, as they welcome the community to come out and help celebrate the department's 120th anniversary. A community barbecue will be held at the Department, 80 Airport Road, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with hot dogs and root beer from the Busted Knuckle.
