Scottie Track Teams Win District 2B Meet

Glasgow's track and field teams claimed the top slots at the District 2B Meet held at Scottie Field on Saturday. The Scottie girls ran up 202 points for their first place, outpacing Malta, 169; Harlem, 63; Poplar, 49, and Wolf Point, 31. The Glasgow boys scored 191.67 points, putting them ahead of Malta, 155; Wolf Point, 95; Poplar, 55, and Harlem, 25.33.

The Scottie girls claimed their fifth title in as many years led by Blaire Westby, 100 and 200 meters; Iris McKean, 400, 800 and 3200 meters; Tanae Baker, 1600 meters, and Eve Stone, pole vault, each with individual titles. This marks the 20th time in school history the girls have claimed the top spot at the District meet.

Glasgow's boys have now won a District title 16 times. This year's team was led by Dalton Sand, 800 meters; Tatum Hansen, 110m hurdles; Vaughn Miller, javelin, and Stephen Bailey, pole vault, who each won an event.

The top six finishers in each event move on to the Eastern B Divisional meet.

GIRLS

Westby took the top spot in the 100 meters with a time of 13.61. She'll be joined at the Divisional meet by Ava Lloyd and Nora Neumiller in the event. Lloyd finished third with a personal best time of 14.31 and Neumiller took fourth with a time of 14.34. He'lena Deavila took eighth place with her 15.14 time.

Westby, Lloyd and Deavila all placed in the 200 meters. Westby won with a time of 28.28 while Lloyd took fourth at 30.69. Deavila ran the race in 31.24 for sixth place. Tyann Graham set a season record at 31.90 and took eighth place.

McKean set a personal record with her time of 1:03.56 for her first place finish. Westby's season record 1:06.56 earned her second while Lloyd took third, also with a season record, with her 1:07.07 time. Deavila finished sixth at 1:09.16.

McKean, Baker and Emily See will represent Glasgow at the Divisional meet in the 800 meters after taking first, second and fifth, respectively, at the District meet. McKean ran a 2:28.83 for first, with Baker coming in second at 2:35.60. See set a personal record, 2:40.71, for fifth place. Abigail Kulczyk took eighth place with her 2:59.65 time.

Baker won the 1600 meters, running the four laps in 5:34.70. McKean came in second with a 5:44.31 time and See placed fourth with a 5:59.64 race time. Kheyerah Bilger claimed sixth with a time of 6:42.37.

McKean's 12:18.33 earned her first in the 3200 meters. Baker set a personal best at 12:24.93, good for second place and See came in third at 12:42.37. Bilger ran the race in 15:07.25 and placed seventh.

Kambria Ross set a personal record in the 100 meters, taking fourth place with a time of 19.02. She placed sixth in the 300 meter hurdles, with a time of 59.81. Westby took third in the 300m hurdles with a personal best 54.69.

Deavila, Lloyd, Graham and Neumiller combined for a second place finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 55.46, just two-tenths of a second out of first place. Lloyd, Kulczyk, Bilger and Haylly Turner placed third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 5:05.38.

Graham led the Scottie girls in the shot put with an eighth place finish and a 29-06.50 throw. Emma Whitmer placed 14th, throwing 23-04.50. Kassi Norcutt threw 21-09.50 for 17th place and Hailee Richardson took 18th with her distance of 18-06.00.

Whitmer set a personal record of 77-06.50 in the discus, just missing the podium with a seventh place finish. Norcutt finished in 13th with a 51-10 throw and Richardson threw 42-10 for 14th place.

Graham also just missed the podium in javelin, throwing 80-10 and finishing in seventh place. Whitmer threw 66-10, a personal record good for 16th place. Norcutt finished in 20th place after throwing 41-00.

Stone led the Scottie girls as they took five of the six spots in the pole vault, with a former Scottie taking the other spot on the podium. Stone cleared 9-00.00 for first place followed by Graham in second with an 8-00.00 vault. Kira Beck, now of Malta, took third after also clearing 8-00.00. Westby set a season record at 7-00.00 for fourth place with See clearing 5-06.00 for fifth place. Deavila took sixth with a personal best vault of 5-00.00.

Stone took second in high jump after clearing 4-08.00 and second in long jump with a 13-11.50 leap. Turner took fifth with a personal best 13-02.25 jump. Ross jumped 12-09.00 for seventh place and Kulczyk jumped 11-11.00 for ninth place.

Stone took third in triple jump with a distance of 30-04.50. Turner set a personal record, and finished sixth, with a 27-03.50 jump.

BOYS

Hansen set a season record and place fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.33. Wyatt Babb took sixth with a personal best time of 12.38. Blake Lloyd set a season record at 12.75 for ninth place. Toryn Richards ran a 12.85 for 10th place and Rex Monson set a personal record at 13.02 for 11th place.

Babb finished sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.24 and Hansen ran a 25.58 for sixth place. Lloyd's season record 25.70 put him in seventh place, followed by Ted Tryan in eighth with a personal best 26.38 time. Nick Solarzano finished in ninth at 26.43.

Sand took second in the 400 meters, setting a season record at 55.58. Lloyd also set a season record, and finished in fourth place, with his 57.14 time. Tryan placed fifth with a personal record 57.20. Babb also set a personal record, 57.47, but missed the podium with a seventh place finish. Richards took 10th place at 1:00.22.

The Glasgow boys took five of the six available spots in the 800 meters. Sand ran the race in 2:05.53 for his first place finish. Reed Larsen finished second in 2:09.70 followed by Kyler Holinde in third at 2:10.71. Bergen Miller's personal record of 2:13.21 put him in fifth, followed by Lane Thompson in sixth at 2:14.89, also a personal best.

Larsen placed third in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:49.15, followed by Holinde in fourth at 5:03.93. Sand finished in sixth with a time of 5:05.22. Adam Mickelson ran a 6:31.31 for ninth place.

Larsen also led the Scottie boys in the 3200 meters, finishing fourth with a personal best time of 10:39.45. Holinde's personal best 11:00.12 put him directly behind Larsen in fifth place while B. Miller took the last spot on the podium with a time of 11:06.51. Ted See finished ninth with a personal record of 12:44.15.

Hansen ran the 110 meter hurdles in 17.29 for his first place finish in the event. Bailey ran a 19.11 for third and Mason Donaldson took fourth with a time of 20.19. Hansen and Donaldson placed fourth and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Hansen ran a 50.47 with Donaldson finishing in 51.58.

B. Lloyd, Solarzano, Richards and Donaldson teamed up to take second place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 47.87. Noah Runner, Myles Yoakam, Connor Hudyma and Holinde ran the 4x400 relay in 3:59.26 for second place.

Sand led Glasgow in the shot put with a 10th place finish and a 37-03.00 throw. Hudyma took 14th with a 33-05.50 throw. Monson set a personal record at 32-09.00 and took 16th place. Parker Allen finished in 17th with a throw of 32-08.00.

B. Miller earned fourth in discus with a throw of 126-04 followed by V. Miller in fifth with a throw of 123.50, a personal best. Hudyma and Yoakam both set personal records in discus with Hudyma finishing eighth with a 119-05 throw and Yoakam's 107-08 throw putting him in ninth place. Lex Fairclough threw 84-07 for 16th place.

V. Miller threw 150-06 in boys' javelin for his first place finish. Donaldson took third with a 132-01 throw. Noah Lippert threw a personal best 124-09 and took sixth place. Yoakam took ninth with a 108-07 throw and Zavier Urbin threw 99-01 for 11th place.

Bailey took second in high jump after clearing 5-04.00. V. Miller and Babb jumped 5-02.00 for a three-way tie for fourth. Donaldson cleared 5-02.00 and took seventh place.

The Glasgow boys swept the pole vault, with all five Scotties earning a trip to the Divisional meet. Bailey won the pole vault after clearing 12-06.00. Tryan placed second with an 11-06.00 vault. Hansen set a personal record at 9-06.00 and took third place. Solarzano finished in fourth after clearing 7-06.00 and Thompson finished fifth with a 6-00.00 vault.

Babb led the Scottie boys in the long jump with a third place finish, jumping 17-05.50. Richards jumped 17-02.50 for fourth while Bailey took fifth with a 16-10.75 jump. Solarzano finished in seventh with a 16-09.00 jump and Tryan was an inch behind him at 16-08.00 for eighth place.

Bailey took fourth in the triple jump with his 36-06.00 distance. Solarzano's personal best 35-03.00 put him in fifth with Richards also setting a personal record and claiming sixth place with a 35-01.00 jump. V. Miller jumped 34-10.50 for seventh place and Monson finished in ninth with a 33-00.00 distance.

The Scotties will attend the Northern B Divisional Meet Saturday, May 21, at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls. The top six finishers in each event will advance to the State Class B Track Meet, also in Great Falls, Thursday through Saturday, May 26-28.
