Nashua Track

The Nashua Porcupines track team hit three meets in the final week of the regular season. Nashua sent two tracksters to the Norm Girard North/East Top Ten meet Tuesday in Glasgow and took their full team to the Gene Nelson Memorial in Wolf Point Friday and Hinsdale's Jean Dreikosen Memorial in Glasgow on Saturday.

Tia Dees competed in the girls' discus and shot put at the Top Ten meet while Xander Pugh represented Nashua in the boys' high jump and triple jump.

Dees placed fifth in discus with a throw of 99-01 and 10th in shot put with a 30-11.00 toss.

Pugh took ninth in triple jump with a 36-01.50 leap. He was unable to make a height in the high jump.

In Wolf Point on Friday, the girls took seventh place with 16 points while the boys finished in eighth with 17 points.

Dees led the Nashua girls with second places in the shot put and discus. She threw 30-11.00 in shot put and 93.10 in discus. Deja Morgan took 12th in discus with a throw of 71-02. Dees placed eighth in javelin, throwing 86-10 while Morgan set a personal record at 82-02, finishing in 10th place.

Morgan tied for 13th in the long jump with a leap of 12-02.50. She also set a season record in the 800 meters, and finished in 12th place, with a time of 3:03.03.

Pugh took fourth in the boys' 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.28. Torrian Lucy placed 13th at 13.43. Lucy earned 12th in the 200 meters at 27.01, a personal best. He also set a personal record in the 110 meter hurdles, taking fourth with his time of 21.60.

EvRhett Pugh placed 19th in boys javelin, throwing 86-09 while Lucy set a personal best 85-02, taking 21st place.

X. Pugh took fourth in high jump after clearing 5-04.00. He placed third in long jump with a personal best 18-09.00 while E. Pugh also set a personal best, good for 17th place, at 13-05.75.

In the triple jump, X. Pugh just missed the podium, taking seventh place with a 36-07.75 leap. E. Pugh placed 14th with a distance of 30-06.00.

The Nashua girls stood in seventh place with 11 points and the boys in fifth with 14 points at Hinsdale's meet on Saturday before a spring storm ended the meet early.

Lucy took third place in the 110 meter hurdles, running the race in 21.70 while X. Pugh took second in long jump with an 18-04.00 jump. E. Pugh jumped 13-00.00 for 20th place.

X. Pugh set a personal record in the javelin with a 97-03 throw, good for ninth place. E. Pugh's personal best 90-06 earned him 15th place while Lucy took 23rd with a 79-04 throw.

Dees won the girls' discus with a 95-00 throw. Morgan set a season record with a 72-08 throw and took 11th place.

Morgan also earned points with a sixth place finish in the long jump, leaping 11-07.00. She set another season record in the 300 meter hurdles, taking seventh with a time of 1:04.36. Leah Morgan took seventh in javelin with a throw of 42-02.

The Nashua Porcupines begin their postseason Saturday, May 14, at the District 2B/3C Track Meet in Glasgow with events beginning at 9 a.m.
