Frazer Track

The Frazer Bearcubs track team made the trip to Whitewater April 21 for the Penguins Invitational, one of the few sporting events to move forward with unusually cold spring weather in the region.

Frazer’s boys team scored 26 points to claim fifth place at the event.

The Bearcubs 4x100 meter relay team of Malaki Smoker, Jonathan Jackson, Ty Fourstar and Blue Fettig took second place with a time of 58.91 seconds. Jackson earned fifth place in the 110 meter hurdles, running the event in 24.38 seconds.

Ryker Ackerman earned a top five finish in the shot put, discus and javelin events. The Frazer senior placed third in shot put with a toss of 39-02.00 and third in the discus with a throw of 99-10. He took fourth with a distance of 120-10 in the javelin.

Smoker set a personal record of 14.50 seconds and placed 27th in the 100 meters while Fourstar place 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 29.52 seconds.

Fettig set a season record in the shot put, taking 10th, with his throw of 29-05.00. Joseph Beston was right behind him in 11th place with a personal record of 28-04.25. Jackson claimed 13th place with a distance of 27-06.00 and Christopher Fox threw a personal best 22-01.00 to take 23rd place.

Fourstar claimed ninth in javelin with his personal record throw of 100-03. Jackson also hit a personal best with a distance of 88-2, good for 13th place. Fettig claimed 17th place with his throw of 82-04 and Smoker finished in 19th with a distance of 81-06. Fox threw a personal best 70-11 and took 26th place and Beston finished in 29th place at 62-00.

Fourstar also represented the Bearcubs boys in the long jump, taking 25th place with a personal best leap of 14-08.75. Smoker jumped 13-05.50, a personal record, and took 30th place.

Evelyn YellowHammer competed for the Bearcubs girls team. She took 18th in the 100 meters with a time of 16.60 and ran a personal best 36.60 in the 200 meters for 11th place. The Frazer sophomore placed 26th in the javelin with a throw of 60-01.

Frazer will be in Glendive Thursday, April 28, for the Elks Invitational with events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. The Bearcubs will be in Glasgow Saturday, April 30, for the Whitewater/Saco Invitational with events kicking off at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, the annual Top Ten meet will be in Glasgow scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
