Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Ducks Unlimited Banquet

The generosity and largesse of Valley County residents was on display again this past weekend as supporters of Ducks Unlimited landed at the Cottonwood for the annual sponsor banquet.

The Missouri/Milk River chapter of the national organization welcomed scores of supporters to their 36th and 85th Anniversary Banquet March 5, tempting their donors with a live auctions, raffles and a silent auction.

Though Montana Regional Director Barry Allen was unable to attend as planned, emceeing duties were ably handled by local committee member Ken Jansa. The mic was only turned over to Brian Austin who worked his auctioneer magic on the crowd.

Though the final numbers have not been tallied, the committee estimated that the banquet of 160-plus supporters raised nearly $70,000 for wetlands conservation efforts.

The giving went both ways though as Ducks Unlimited recognized and honored Don and Sue Pansegrau for their years of support to the organization with a Ducks Unlimited plaque.

Underscoring the generosity of the evening, the committee highlighted that the event came together due to the work and time of volunteers.

This year thanks went to Jansa, Ky Idler, Cheryl Jansa, Cheryl Solmonsen, Brian Austin, Jeff Cole, Tyler Hillman, Sam Waters, Evan Guenther, Lisa Koski, Jeff Robertson, Christi Meland, James Meland, Janet Gullickson, Stacie Canen, Stacie Guenther, Linda Stathos, Joan Burris, Nancy Bowman, Tyler Harirs, Doug Bowman, Tom Stathos, Lisa Wiltfong, Heather Harris and Kevin Hohlen.

The Missouri/Milk River chapter also extended their gratitude to Dr. Gran Brees, who matched all sponsorship monies donated that evening.

All funds raised go to Ducks Unlimited, which is dedicated to wetlands conservation and waterfowl resources.
