Bantam Ice Dawgs Beat Billings Bulls

Glasgow's Bantam Ice Dawgs downed the visiting Billings Bulls in a pair of games this past weekend. Glasgow won decisively 7-3 on Saturday and 9-2 Sunday morning.

Brody Hansen scored two goals in the first period for Glasgow as the score stood tied at 2-2 at the end of the first.

The Dawgs added three goals in the second period while shutting out the Bulls to carry a 5-2 lead into intermission. John Cornwell netted the first of the three with assists from Landon Honey and Bode Barnett. Barnett scored a power play goal with help from Charlie Cornwell and J. Cornwell. Honey, with help from Hansen and Barnett, scored the final goal before the break.

J. Cornwell, with help from Hudson Honey and Gryffen Collins, started the third period scoring. Billings added a third goal to their side of the scoreboard before Barnett, assist J. Cornwell, scored a power play goal to cement the Dawgs' win.

Glasgow held their penalties to three in the game. Hansen, interference, and Tavin Boland, tripping, sat in the first period. Barnett was called for interference in the second.

Jacob Potter faced only 19 shots on net in while the Dawgs' offense put 36 pucks on net at the other end of the ice.

In Sunday's game, the Dawgs put up three goals in each of the three periods while holding the Bulls to a goal in each the second and third periods.

Barnett scored the first and, with assists from C. Cornwell and J. Cornwell, the second goals in the first period. C. Cornwell netted the third with an assist from Hansen.

Hansen netted the first of the second period goals. Reilly Lewellyn, assists Halle Hunter and Boland, scored the second. The third came from Hansen.

Hansen earned a hat trick in the third, netting his third goal of the game. Boland scored the second in the third and Barnett closed out the scoring.

Glasgow had six penalties. C. Cornwell, roughing, and Barnett, interference, took seats in the sin bin the first period. C. Cornwell also sat for high sticking in the second and interference in the third. Boland, elbowing, and Barnett, tripping, caught the officials' attention in the third.

Glasgow outshot Billings 40-28 in the game. Potter had a 92.9 save percentage in the win.

The Bantam Ice Dawgs host the Havre Ice Hawks for a pair of games on Saturday, Jan. 29. Game times are 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Valley Event Center.
