Nashua Boys Fall to Lustre

The Porcupines boys basketball team fell to the visiting Lustre Christian Lions 80-30 in Nashua's home opener Dec. 17.

The Lions took a 22-6 lead after the first eight minutes of play and never looked back. Nashua hit double digits coming out of halftime with 10 points, but were unable to catch up to Lustre.

Kevan Viste led the Porcupines with 12 points off three field goals and going a perfect 6-for-6 at the charity line. Grady Nielsen scored 7 points for Nashua, including a three-pointer and going 2-for-3 on free throws. Ethan Noser also connected from downtown and added 6 points for the home team. Xander Pugh drained a three and added 5 points.

Nashua had 14 fouls in the game. Caden Laumeyer was called for four infractions and Noser three. Pugh, Viste and Walker Laumeyer had two fouls each and Nielsen was called for one.

Nashua hosted North Country on Dec. 21, after press time.

The Porcupines host the Dodson Coyotes tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 22 with games starting at 3 p.m.
