Frazer Boys 0-2 in Wolf Point

Frazer's boys basketball team dropped both of their games at the Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend in Wolf Point. Friday saw the Bearcubs fall 63-30 to the Glasgow JV team. Saturday, the host Wolves defeated Frazer 63-44.

The Bearcubs held even with the Scotties in the first quarter with both teams putting 17 points up on the scoreboard. However, Glasgow took over the game in the second, outscoring Frazer 19-4. After halftime, the Scotties scored 15 in the third and 12 in the fourth while holding the Bearcubs to 5 and 4 points.

John Hotomanie led Frazer with 11 points, including a three-pointer. Keein Ackermann added 7 points with two treys. Ty Fourstar added 5 points, with another three pointer. Joseph Beston had a trey and Blue Fettig added a field goal.

Frazer had only six fouls in the game while going 3-for-9 on their extra point attempts. Fettig had two fouls while Hotomanie, Jonathan Jackson, Fourstar and Beston were called for one a piece.

Saturday, the Bearcubs put up double digits in three quarters but still fell to Wolf Point. Frazer went up 14-9 at the end of the first, but the Wolves outscored them 21-13 in the second to take a 30-27 lead into the half.

The Wolves came out hot after the break, throwing 19 points up on the scoreboard while holding the Bearcubs to two treys. Wolf Point built on their lead in the final quarter with 14 points. Frazer was unable to catch up with their 10 points.

Ackerman connected for 21 points in the game, including three treys. Hotomanie added 13 points with one three-pointer. Fourstar hit two from the outside for 6 points and Jackson added three points for Frazer.

The Bearcubs played a clean game with only four total fouls. Beston accrued half of those while Fettig and Ackerman had one a piece.

The Bearcubs travel to Scobey on Thursday, Dec. 16, with the boys varsity playing at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, Frazer hosts Froid/Medicine Lake with the boys varsity game at 7 p.m.
