HS Ice Dawgs 1-3 in Sidney

The High School Ice Dawgs went 1-3 at the annual Sidney tournament this past weekend, with their win coming against Northwood Saturday evening.

Glasgow lost their opening game against the Minot Junior Gold 4-1. Captain Colter Barnett netted the Dawgs' lone goal at 9:01 in the third. Ice Dawg goalie Kolten Hansen faced 25 shots between the pipes while his teammates fired an equal number at the Minot net minder. Glasgow was called for two penalties with Connor Koski serving time for tripping in the second and Lex Fairclough called for head contact in the third.

Saturday afternoon the Dawgs faced off against host Richland and fell 7-2. Trevor Dulaney scored Glasgow's first goal in the first period. Mason Hunter, assist Barnett, netted a power play goal in the third period for the Dawgs.

Glasgow was outshot in the game by a 52 to 30 margin, with Glasgow netminder Aidin Wilkowski turning away 45 attempts.

Zevin Kummerfeldt served time in the penalty box for roughing in the second period and cross checking in the third. Barnett served a tripping penalty in the third period.

Glasgow faced off against Northwood Saturday evening and won the penalty-heavy game 6-3. Michael Hoyer netted the first goal for Glasgow in the first period, assisted by Barnett. Hoyer assisted on Tatum Hansen's second period goal. Barnett put one past the Northwood goalie unassisted to take 3-2 lead into the second intermission.

Barnett put Glasgow ahead even more in the third period, scoring a hat trick before Northwood scored a final goal. Hansen earned an assist on all three goals and Hoyer assisted on the second of the three.

Glasgow was called for five of the game's 16 penalties.

The Ice Dawgs fell in their fourth and final game of the tournament, dropping a 9-2 game to Crosby. Barnett netted both goals for Glasgow. Hunter assisted on the first period goal and the third period goal was unassisted.

Glasgow limited their penalties to two in the game. Hoyer served time for high sticking in the first and Gage Siefert served time in the second for roughing. Wilkowski faced 28 shots between the pipes and Glasgow fired 20 shots at the Crosby netminder.

The High School Ice Dawgs travel to Butte this Saturday, Dec. 11, to take on Salmon.
