Grief Support Offered in Eastern Montana

Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center (EMCMHC) is offering a series of six week groups to help people in Eastern Montana learn about and process grief.

Grief is a natural response to loss. Death is a common cause of grief but any loss can cause grief; losses of job, illness, close relationships, trauma and pets among many others.

This group is for anyone who has experienced a loss and has a desire for potential healing that eventually can strengthen and enrich life. Participants will meet virtually for one hour, for six weeks.

Residents from any Eastern Montana county are eligible to take part and in the groups and there is no charge for the service. Groups will be led by Nancy Cullinan, MS, LAC out of the EMCMHC Glendive office and will cover the differences between grief and mourning, symptoms of grief and loss events, stages of grief and individual grief strategy, myths and facts about grief, and identifying a grief support system.

Group membership is limited to 10 adults (per group) and available on a first come first served basis.

The groups begin the week of Dec. 13, 2021 and will run through Jan. 21, 2022.

Participants will need access to the internet.

To register, contact Darci Wiley at 234-0234, ext. 100, or [email protected].
