Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Richard "Rick" A. Birkoski passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
Rick was born to Phyllis and Edmund Birkoski and was one of four brothers.
He went to school in Glasgow, Mont. and, upon graduating, continued his education at Wyoming Tech receiving his certificate for diesel mechanics.
He returned back to Montana and while living in Hinsdale met his wife Linda Brookie and to them one son was born, they later divorced.
Rick later met Kelly Rankin who became his girlfriend. Rick stayed in Glasgow and worked many jobs, including for Zerbes, Boeing, and his last job at Dry Prairie Rural Water.
He loved working with his hands and could always be found with a project in his garages, helping neighbors in need, or helping his son learn about vehicles or other DIY tasks.
If he ran short on broken things to fix, he started taking apart whatever was nearby. There was no mechanical problem he couldn't solve, be it gas, diesel, or electrical.
Rick also loved his dogs and would always spoil them, never leaving them out of a cruise or sharing dinner from the table.
Rick was someone you could always depend on, he loved his family and always watched over them.
Rick is survived by his son Jeremy Birkoski (Glasgow), mother Phyllis Birkoski, girlfriend Kelly Rankin (Glasgow), brother Lee Birkoski (Glasgow), brother David (Linda) Birkoski (Great Falls), and many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. As well as many friends.
Rick is preceded in death by his father Edmund Birkoski and brother Dale Birkoski.
Funeral Services were Monday, October 25, 2021 at Assembly of God Church in Glasgow.
Internment followed the service at Highland Cemetery.
