Nashua Volleyball

The Nashua Porcupines split their weekend on the volleyball court, dropping a home match to Savage on Friday before notching a win in Lustre on Saturday.

Nashua took the first game against Savage but the Warriors battled back to take the next three sets and win the match 25-27, 25-13, 25-21, 25-15. The Porcupines netted 14 kills, 12 assists, 14 aces, 45 digs and 3 blocks in the match.

Tia Dees had seven kills and Deja Morgan added three. Kaitlyn Miller led in assists with eight and Hadynn Adkins add four. Adkins and Dees led the Porcupines in aces with four each. Adkins also led the team in digs with 16 and Alexis Murdock added seven. Dees registered all three blocks for the home team.

On Saturday, Nashua made the journey north to take on the Lions of Lustre Christian. The Porcupines took the match in three games against an improved Lions team 25-21, 25-19, 25-14. Nashua had 23 kills, 5 assists, 28 aces, 31 digs and 1 block in the match.

Dees had eight kills and Adkins had five to lead Nashua. Miller had four assists and one block. Adkins had nine aces, Dees eight and Miller six to lead the Porcupines. Adkins and Dees led the team in digs with eight and six, respectively.

Nashua hosted the North Country Mavericks Tuesday evening.

The Porcupines will return to the court for the District Tournament in Scobey Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 28-30.
