Scottie Volleyball Adds Win to Conference Record

Go 3-3 at Dickinson Invitational

The Scottie volleyball team swept their match against the Wolf Point Wolves Sept. 23 then traveled to North Dakota for the Dickinson Invitational Sept. 24-25 where they split their matches 3-3.

Glasgow defeated Wolf Point 25-22, 29-27, 25-21 in the Scottie gym to improve their conference record to 4-0. In game two, the Scotties overcame a 24-16 deficit to win. The Scotties had 25 kills to the Wolves' 32, 29 blocks to 6, 9 aces to 6, 32 digs to 47, and 23 assists to Wolf Point's 31.

Abrianna Nielsen led the Scotties in kills with 9. Klaire Krumwiede had 14 blocks to lead Glasgow. Daley Aune and Aspen Stulc each had three aces for the home team. Blaire Westby racked up 9 digs and Daley Aune notched 14 assists.

On Friday and Saturday the team traveled to Dickinson, N.D., for two days of tournament play. On Friday in pool play, Glasgow first matched up against Richardton-Taylor, N.D., and defeated them 25-17, 25-13, 15-7. They then beat New England, N.D., 25-20, 23-25, 15-11. Their last pool play game was against Minot Our Redeemer, N.D., which the Scotties dropped 25-22, 25-18, 9-15.

On Saturday, the Scotties entered the gold bracket with a match against Lewis and Clark, N.D. Glasgow won the match 25-15, 25-12. They then faced Minot Our Redeemer in a rematch, but the North Dakota team again pulled out the win 25-7, 25-14. The loss pitted Glasgow against Dickinson Trinity. The Scotties lost their final match 25-15, 25-12.

This Thursday, Sept. 30, Glasgow hosts the North Country Mavericks with JV action starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, the Scotties host the Sidney Eagles for Homecoming with C-squad action starting at 1 p.m. in Scottie gymnasium.
