Frazer Cross Country

The Frazer Bearcubs traveled to Daniels County on Sept. 9 to compete in the Scobey Invitational. The girls teams were well represented with the high school team placing eighth with 71 points and the junior high girls placing sixth after scoring 54 points.

The boys teams sent one runner to the field for the high school competition and one for the junior high race. Sophomore Ty Fourstar ran the 5,000 meters for the Bearcubs, placing 28th with a time of 28:23.5. In the junior high 1.5 mile race, sixth-grader Bryce Even ran a 12:00.5 race to finish in 29th place.

Junior Alyssa Toce Bount paced the Frazer High School girls with her time of 27:38.1 and a 20th place finish. Sophomore Shakira Beston placed 21st with her time of 28:13.4. Angel Nelligan, sophomore, earned a 33rd place finish after completing the race in 32:47.7. Fellow sophomore Kalianna Toce Blount ran a 33:10.9 to finish in 35th place.

Eighth-grader Isabelle Even led the junior high girls with her time of 13:34.4 and a 25th place finish. Sixth-grader Raelene Brock was hot on her heels in 26th place with a time of 13:38.0. Lola Romero, seventh-grader, and Madison Knowlton, sixth-grader, finished in 35th and 36th places, respectively. Romero’s time was 16:03.9 and Knowlton’s was 16:07.8. In 40th and 41st were sixth-graders Elli Mail and Madison Garfield with times of 17:21.5 and 17:55.9.

The Bearcubs took 45th through 49th places as well. Cassidy Mail, seventh-grader, was in 45th with her time of 20:10.5 followed by sixth-grader Katherine Roundface in 46th with her time of 20:54.7. In 47th place was Shay Fourstar, seventh-grader, with a time of 20:58.1. Mila Smoker, sixth-grader, ran a 21:03.0 to take 48th place and fellow sixth-grader Bethany Hotomanie placed 49th with a time of 21:36.1.

The Frazer Bearcubs will be in Fort Peck at Kiwanis Park this Saturday, Sept. 18, for the Glasgow Invitational. The high school boys will race at 10 a.m. followed by high school girls at 10:45 a.m. Junior high girls will race at 11:30 a.m. and junior high boys at noon.
