Barnett Wins Maah Daah Hey 25 Mile

Colter Barnett, of Fort Peck, raced away with the top slot in the Maah Daah Hey 100 MTB Race in the 25 mile competition. The 17-year-old placed first overall in the race with well over 100 competitors. He also won in the male 13-19 category. Barnett finished the race in 2:24:54.07, more than four minutes ahead of his nearest competition.

The Maah Dahh Hey 100 MTB race takes place in Medora, N.D., taking racers over a single-track trail through the famous Badlands. The full trail runs 107 miles with 13,001 feet of elevation gain.

Mike Franzen and Nick Knight, both of Glasgow, also competed in the 25-mile race. Franzen placed 77th with a time of 3:55:59.17 and Knight crossed the finish line shortly thereafter, 3:36:10.00.

Bode Barnett claimed the number one position in the 13 mile race in the male 13-19 category. The 13-year-old finished his race in 1:24:28.77. The Fort Pecker's time earned him seventh place overall.

Glasgow's Shauna Stringer finished the 13-mile course in 1:50:30.17 earning her 44th place out of 78 competitors.
