911 Calls

There were 16 motor vehicle stops, eight public assists/assist citizen calls, six animal control calls, five dog/cat control calls, two hazards, one traffic control and one report for record.

MONDAY, JULY 19

• 1327 – Someone claiming to be from Publisher's Clearinghouse attempted to contact the caller about her winnings and wanted her to send $8,500 to claim her prize. She said she knew this was wrong and thinks she made the male mad because he hung up. While she was on the phone with dispatch, he attempted to call back again. She did not give any information. She said he had information about her. She was told that this is normal, they have public information and they are looking for things like social security numbers and bank account information. She stated she is getting old and wanted law enforcement to know about this. Passed on the information to an officer.

• 1435 – Store employee called to state they had a gas drive-off in the amount of $20.28. A deputy stated the driver was an older gentleman and didn't realize his card didn't take. He is turned around and headed back to take care of the balance.

• 1507 – Phillips County SO said she received a report of a grass fire at MM 508. Received several calls about a grass fire on US Highway 2 around mile marker 510. Stated it was growing quickly. Paged Hinsdale and Long Run. 1517 – Hinsdale arrived on scene and stated they were going into mop up and could handle it. Passed on the information to Long Run who turned around.

• 1529 – Hinsdale advised they have the fire out and putting water on hot spots.

• 1655 – Received a 911 hang up call. Received another call from the same number. The caller reported hay on fire.

• 1850 – Fire turned over to the land owner.

• 1901 – Caller reported a grass fire at the Middle Park in Frazer. A second caller reported the same. She said it's by the store.

• 1909 – Frazer FC called to let dispatch know that he's responding but he's in the middle of moving something. He'll get there as soon as he can but requested that dispatch also page out LRFD.

• 1943 – Dispatch called Nashua FC to find out the status on this and was advised they are in mop up and dispatch could cancel Norval.

TUESDAY, JULY 20

• 0228 – Per an officer, car with headlights off and tail lights on. Per the officer, the owner of the vehicle left the lights on by mistake.

• 0916 – Caller stated he traveled to the lake this last weekend and has found he lost a plate at some point. He was advised when he went to get a new plate to report his one in case anyone found it.

• 1517 – A female called concerned that her mother received a scam call. The caller told the mother that they will be delivering a Mercedes Benz to her tomorrow and that she will receive a package today. They also told her that they will be calling her back. Advised her that this sounds like a scam. Patched her up with an officer.

• 2037 – Caller reported that there's a train parked on the tracks. There's a train car towards the rear that is whistling and sounds like it's leaking something. She said there's also an odor (like natural gas) in the air. Notified an officer and BNSF. The officer will go check it out and let dispatch know if BNSF or the fire department needs to respond.

• 2052 – The officer advised that this is hazmat related. He got a sweet taste when he walked up to it. He already called LRFD FC and she will make a call and call the officer back to let him know if they're going to need a call out. He requested that dispatch tell BNSF to hold the train in the meantime. Advised BNSF of this.

• 2057 – The officer called the hazmat post out of Idaho and was told that this normal. The train should be allowed to continue.

• 2103 – The officer advised that the fire department is on scene in the fire command vehicle. He said they're going to make a call to the fire department to get it moved so it's at least out of town.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 21

• 1039 – A female called in stating her husband tipped over their camper this morning at the marina. Thompson's came out and got it back up. It did do damage to the camper as well as the truck. They need a report for insurance. They are by the information booth at the marina.

• 1235 – Caller wants a deputy to come to Frazer to speak with them about someone messing with their vehicle. She stated that the vehicle drove fine yesterday and today they had it out on the highway with the kids in the car and found the tire was starting to wobble. They stopped the vehicle and found someone had taken all the lugnuts off the tire. She said there have been other reports in Frazer about vehicles being messed with. She stated further that about a month ago someone got under their vehicle and messed with their lines as well.

1407 – PCFD called in to request assistance from LRFD for a fire in Phillips County about 8 miles south of Malta.

THURSDAY, JULY 22

• 1129 – A male called in stating he got a call last night from someone stating they were with publisher's clearinghouse. They called back today and gave him a number to all for a bank so he could send them money to get his check. Dispatch told him this is a sam. He said he did not give them any of his personal information.

• 1546 – A female called in stating there is a door open on an apartment that is not occupied. She believes someone is in there at this time. Status check 10-4.

• 1930 – A male reported a fire off Skylark Road. Received a call from a male on 911 who reported the same, said it is down in the trees. He said it is on Cherry Creek.

• 1935 – A male called in that it's a haystack on fire.

• 1949 – Another male called wanting to know if anyone reported smoke.

• 2156 – A female called wanting to know if this was reported. She said her son is going to head that way with a truck with a tank on it.

• 2053 – Caller reported that the light pole at the Wagon Wheel bar is on fire. Notified Northwestern Energy of this.

• 2105 – Nashua Fire advised that the fire is at the top of the pole on the south side of the building. The fire is above the transformer and there's no lines down. Updated Northwestern Energy.

• 2120 – Nashua FC called wanting to know if they can put water on the pole. He requested that dispatch call Northwestern and ask them. The dispatcher said they had now way to contact their serviceman but they wouldn't recommend putting water on an electrical fire. She also didn't know if their serviceman is en route yet because they are dealing with a lot of outages. Advised FC of this.

• 2214 – FC advised the fire is out at the top of the pole and Northwestern is making repairs. Should be clear soon.

FRIDAY, JULY 23

• 0020 - A deputy advised he is going to check the theater as there is a high-pitched noise coming from the building. The deputy reported he check the building and everything seems 10-4. He said he would find the source of the noise. It doesn't appear to be an alarm. He reported he could not find the source of the noise. He thinks it might be an external speaker but he is not sure.

• 1148 – A female called in wanting to talk to an officer about harassment. She wants it on record.

• 1424 – Caller advised he is buying a camper from his sister. He said it looks like someone tried to break in and steal things. Looks like they messed with the heater system and broke it. A deputy advised she took pictures. The RP will drop off a statement on Monday.

• 1719 – A caller said there's a parking spot for trailers and boats. He said a trailer blew off its stand during the storm and hit his boat. He would like to get it moved before it does further damage.

• 2344 – Caller reported what sounded like gunshots at first, then a few minutes later more of the same, but sounds like fireworks, loud ones, being set off in the alley. An officer was UTL. He spoke to neighbors, they heard it also. It sounded like bottle rockets. He found one. UTL on where it was from.

SATURDAY, JULY 24

• 1227 – An officer was out. He states the female got a flat tire, a male was changing it for her. She believes an ex boyfriend may have let the air out of it. She will get it filled with air and see if it holds. She is supposed to call back and let dispatch know.

• 1315 – Caller advised his neighbors have been told by him on numerous occasions not to mow his lawn. Today, he went for a bike ride and came home and they had mowed his lawn again. He is tire of it. He wants an officer to come by. He said also that he is afraid if he goes over to speak to them again about this he may say some things that may get him in trouble. An officer spoke to the neighbor about this. He will not go back over there and mow the lawn again.

• 1341 – Business owner called in stating there is a pick up truck parked in front of is door. The truck is locked up, the door to the shop is open. He wanted to know who owns the truck. Dispatch advised they could not give him that information but would get an officer up there. An officer advised he game the RO information to the caller. It is his nephew. He thinks he parked it there to keep anyone from stealing anything from the shop. He believes an employee left the door open.

• 2124 – Caller reported a vehicle with its hood up broke down. A person was trying to flag them down but were afraid to stop. A deputy patrolled to Hinsale, UTL on any vehicle.

SUNDAY, JULY 25

• 0509 – RCSO reporting a pursuit of a vehicle, crossed into Valley County, now passing Oswego, pulling away in excess of 140 mph. An officer will set up at Valley Builders, asked to call a deputy if he wants him to go anywhere else. Notified the deputy. He'll get going. Per Tribal officer, car is stolen, unknown number and id of occupants. Supercharged and can do 160 mph. They lost sight of it near Frazer. They are looking around Frazer for it. Vehicle may still be coming this way. Per RCSO still looking around Frazer. Deputy passing Nashua hasn't spotted it. Tribal has an officer heading from Frazer back east toward Wolf Point. The deputy will check BIA 1 and area to Frazer.
