Facebook Encourages Users to Become Snitches

Publisher's Desk

Not that I have any respect for Facebook, but if I did, they would have lost it. Again.

It seems the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg, the reigning Technocrat in Chief, isn't content with only sucking up personal data about the cattle, er, I mean users, who feed at the virtual trough, and then selling such data to the highest bidders.

Now, everyone's favorite Big Brother has become the thought police. And, the company is even going so far as to encourage users to rat each other out if there is any suspicion anyone has been exposed to "extremist content."

Typing flagged words in the Facebook search bar can pop up a little text box reading, "Are you concerned that someone you know is becoming an extremist?"

There is subtext stating "How you can help: Hear stories and get advice from people who escaped violent extremist groups."

If the user clicks on the link, they are eventually redirected to lifeafterhate.org.

So is this organization against all hate in the world?

Nope. Just the side Facebook disagrees with.

On their "about us" page, Life After Hate describes their mission as being "committed to helping people leave the violent far-right to connect with humanity and lead compassionate lives."

Did you catch that?

"Far right."

What about the far left?

You know, the Antifa types who spent 2020 burning down American cities during "mostly peaceful" protests?

Nada. Zip. Zilch.

That is very telling.

Facebook virtue signals its support of "humanity" and of helping others lead "compassionate lives," but only if the person being targeted falls on the political spectrum to the right of Senator Joe Manchin. These days, some might think Manchin, a centrist Democrat, is himself suspect.

For those on the left, hate away, Facebook seems to indicate.

Case in point, the home page for Antifa on Facebook is accessible from any search engine. It popped right up on my browser without one of those pesky little "extremist content" boxes getting in the way.

This seems to be ample evidence to prove Facebook is not a Free Speech platform where one and all can exercise their First Amendment Right to speak their minds.

No, users can only do that if they conform to the will of their digital overlords. The overlords are, of course, very, very inclusive of everyone ... who agrees with them.

I must note Facebook is a private company and can legally remove users from posting on their platform at any time.

Newspapers can legally do this, too. It happens all the time among editors, what to place and what not to place. A good editor will try and put all voices in, but they are not required by law to do so.

The difference is most newspapers are a platform for thousands. Facebook, and other contemporaries such as Twitter and Google owned Youtube, reach untold millions.

The technocrats know such clout provides power. They who control information control everything.

It is amazing to watch these giant social control experiments progress from the sidelines. Facebook, in the past, has admitted to such experiments.

In 2014, news broke the tech giant was manipulating news feeds to control the emotional expressions their users would see.

The experiment, conducted in partnership with Cornell University and the University of California at San Francisco, studied if "exposure to emotions led people to change their own posting behaviors."

Talk about rats in a giant virtual maze.

The Technocrats desperately want you to agree with them. There is cheese (social media acceptance) if you do. Otherwise, prepare to get thrown off the platform with the other "undesirables."

As for me, I am "gonna break my rusty cage, and run."
