Sun Shines on Longest Dam Weekend

Disc Golf Tournament

Fourteen disc golfers turned out for the inaugural tournament at The Fortress in Fort Peck. The grand opening of the course coincided with the Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture's Longest Dam Race in what is hoped to be the first coordination in a long-running relationship.

Twelve skilled players participated in the competition and two signed up for the recreational division. Golfers from Sidney, Fort Peck, Glendive, Wolf Point, Miles City, and Glasgow, Mont. tried their arms at the course. Even Williston, N.D., was represented.

At the end of two rounds, Hunter Gordon of Sidney stood atop the crowd. He scored 10 below par on round one and eight below par on round two for a total score of 101, edging out his nearest competition by five strokes. Kevin Vogel of Fort Peck placed second with a score of 106, shooting a 57 and 49 on the Par 63 round one and a 49 on the par 56 round two. Josh Tervo, Williston, N.D., finished in third place after shooting a 58 and 52 for a combined score of 110, nine under par.

Matt Arnold of Miles City won the recreational competition with a score of 127 while George Lash of Wolf Point claimed second after shooting a 142.
