Toddlers Once Dressed in Unisex Outfits

Remember When

When I have had the opportunity to visit Western Drug these past few months, I have immediately noticed the lovely crocheted baby dresses on display. This always brings to mind the baby pictures of girl babies taken in the earlier years.

Many of us had cute little dresses like the ones on display at Western. Mine was a nice yellow and white color and definitely crochet by a family friend.

And then, my mind wanders.

How many baby pictures of some of your male ancestors have you been fortunate enough to view?

It is amazing that most all of the baby pictures of young males of a certain era were taken in a in a garment that looks very much like a child’s dress.

Do you suppose the garment had another name rather than dress?

And how old do you think the child was before he sported more male like attire?

I may have to check out my old Sears and Roebuck catalogues to see what I can find, but then I may need to have a catalog older than the one I have.
